Our research approach
How we research
our resources.
A useful answer should make its evidence easy to check.
Start with the source
We use original public information, such as Australian government guidance and Australian Bureau of Statistics releases. We link to the relevant pages and record when we checked them. State-specific explanations name the state; historical figures keep their original dates.
Show the working
We distinguish published figures from our own arithmetic. Fictional examples are labelled. Comparisons describe their population, period and assumptions. A worksheet organises information; it does not decide what is right for a particular building.
Be clear about who prepared it
These resources are prepared by Lot with AI assistance, using public-source and calculation checks. They are not practitioner-reviewed. We do not present them as legal, financial, insurance or building advice, or as evidence of an existing management portfolio.
Keep answers connected to their context
Common questions sit alongside the relevant explanation, examples and sources. Where a question depends on an individual scheme, contract or professional judgement, a general guide cannot settle it.
Corrections and updates
If you find an error, use Talk to Lot and include the resource title, the relevant passage and a supporting source if available. We check reports against the evidence and record substantive corrections on the affected page. A source-check date describes when we last checked it; it is not a guarantee that the source has remained unchanged.
